In the beginning I was asked by a couple of friends if I would research their family trees for them. After that I realised that I could help many more find out about their ancestors. It was then I decided to start Family Tree Designs.

I have over 15 years experience in the genealogy field tracing my own family tree which now contains over 9,000 people and goes back as far as the 16th century.

I use various sources including census returns, birth, marriage and death certificates, IGI records and parish records.

I also provided much of the research for the recent UKTV History programme "My Famous Family" about George Stephenson. (also shown on Sky Three)
